Fisher, 50, died of a heart attack after his car stalled in floodwaters near Route 29 while responding to an accident. Three youths attempt holdup at Chestnut Street Pet House
Yesterday afternoon three youngsters entered the Pet House at Chestnut and York streets around 5 o clock. The tallest boy, oldest of the trio, brandished a water pistol toward proprietor Mrs Paul Kilburn, while a second youth leveled a penknife at clerk Dorothy Berkheimer and warned against screaming. The group shouted this is a holdup and demanded cash. Mrs Kilburn moved toward the rear to attract attention as the third boy stood by the door. Continued on page two.

Family of Hunters Finds Crash Remains
A park hunter in Cold Springs uncovered a 3-foot rudder fragment from an F-51 Mustang after the July 22 crash near Hopewell. Oscar Haws and the Yocum family, including Arthur and John Yocum, found the piece while searching northeast of Hopewell Lake. Pilot James Romanowicz parachuted to safety as the aircraft tangled with another fighter, which returned to General Spaatz field in Reading.

Santa Letters to Alaska Deadline at 11 A.M.
Santa Letter Pouch to Fly North at 11 This morning the mailbag for Santa Claus letters at the Pottstown Automobile Club and The Mercury offices will be closed. That will be the deadline for all letters to be dispatched to Fairbanks Alaska where they will be postmarked and returned to the borough area by regular air mail carriers. Your letters must be in The Mercury office by 11 o'clock in the morning. None can be handled after that time since a schedule must be met to send them to Philadelphia where they will be loaded aboard a Pan American Airways airplane and flown to Alaska.

Fire damages drying room in camera shop
A blaze last night confined to the drying room of a Chestnut and Charlotte street camera shop caused about 2500 dollars in damage. Frederick El Frey, owner, said the fire started in a wooden shanty attached to the drying room used for waste paper.
