Plea Entered in Shooting Case in Chester County
Michael Gentile of Devault Chester County pleaded guilty last night to charges of shooting his wife Virginia E. Gentile twice at their home near Spring City. He was committed to Chester County Prison in default of $3000 bail after a hearing before Phoenixville Justice of the Peace. He faces a January quarter sessions term and is charged with shooting with intent to kill and other related offenses.

Mental health programs planned by Potts town churches
Five Potts town area churches met to discuss three upcoming programs aimed at improving family mental health. Scooter Crash Injures Youth in Pottstown Intersection
A 3-year-old youth escaped with minor cuts after a scooter collided with a car at High and Franklin in Pottstown. Abraham Lady, 18, suffered facial and knee cuts and was treated at the Pottstown hospital dispensary. The sedan was driven by Paul W. Bridegam Jr., who stopped for a light and braked as the scooter turned. The crash caused scrapes on Bridegam’s bumper and the scooter’s front wheel fender. The scooter belonged to Binder’s Drug Store.

The annual State YMCA Older Boys conference begins in Pottstown this afternoon with about 235 youths from 36 communities in 12 counties. Charles F.
