Boroughs seek state share for sewage plant costs
About 168 members of the Montgomery County Boroughs association met in Elks home and approved resolutions urging the 1949 State Legislature to authorize the Commonwealth to pay half the costs of sewage disposal plants as part of a clean up program. They noted a proposed 400 000 dollar secondary plant in Pottstown would exhaust borrowing capacity, urging state sympathy and support.

Martin C Kline Dies At Elverson Former Berks Prison Guard
Martin C Kline a 66 year old retired weaving instructor and guard at the Berks County prison died early yesterday at his home in Elverson. Death at 1 05 oclock was due to hardening of the arteries. He had worked 31 years in weaving and as a guard at the old prison and briefly at the new jail seven miles from Reading. Born in Goodville Lancaster county he was a son of the late John C and Caroline Kline. His wife Elia Bixler Kline died 12 years ago. He leaves four children Esther wife of Walter McElroy Joanna Emily wife of Norman Minnick Joanna and Charles of Joanna a brother Lewis Dayton Ohio and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from Main Street Elverson funeral home Sunday at 1 30 pm with further services at Morgantown Methodist church.
