The Willsborn Democrat reports the push for an electric road between that fire and St Louis was halted last week. The schemer behind the plan asked nearly a hundred citizens along the line to subscribe. Quemao pledged $10 and six others $5 each, which the paper says proves people do not want the road and notes the $50 promised could aid other needs.
Voters within Potosi and Washington County Missouri are notified of a special election on November 21 1901 to adopt Article Ten of Chapter 151 enabling a road district. The district covers 5 744 square miles including the city of Potosi and follows described land boundaries. County Clerk Jo hn O Long signs the notice with the county seal.
