District 143 1/2 School Board Meeting Notes

S and S Robber Convicted in Cook County Court
James Howard Miller was found guilty of armed robbery in Cook County Criminal Court and sentenced by Judge Landesman to 7 to 15 years in the penitentiary. The case traced from a December 14 1962 S and S store holdup in Posen to Miller’s arrest near Route 6 and his prior Indiana prison record. The trial, held September 9 11, featured cross jurisdiction police cooperation and involved local chiefs Schneider Steeze and Miller’s attorney team.
