First Anniversary School Board Notes

District 143 1/2 meets May 12 with plan to improve Gordon School playground for Little League. Civic Association to install backstops after providing liability insurance. A teachers letter and a special May 18 meeting are noted. Budget work set for May 16.

District 143 1/2 Art Fair Winners Named

Winners from Posen Harding Schools selected for top prizes at the district fair following the April 29 30 events and May 6 7 district judging. Judges included Grant Carter and Mrs Frank Willis with entries from all grades. The Posen Times marks its first anniversary and thanks staff and readers for a year of local news.

Baseball Parade Opens Posen Season 1964

On Sunday May 31 the Posen Boys Baseball Club launches the 1964 season with a 1:00 p.m. parade starting at 147th and Troy Street, then to McKinley Avenue and Pirates Field. Local groups including Girl Scouts Mayor Smaron Village Trustees police firemen park board and American Legion plus Judge Walter Dahl will join. Visitors may enter decorated vehicles and a Mother's Kitchen Band will march. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold at the field with two games scheduled for opening day for Junior and Teen Leagues.
