Police chase ends with capture after high speed pursuit
On February 12 court records show John Vacca 20 of Palmer Ave Illinois drove a 1954 Chrysler without a front plate and an expired Ohio license. He fled from Sgt Henry LaBree engaging pursuit through Markham and Dixmoor before a Midlothian unit boxed him on Kedzie. He abandoned the car fled on foot, a warning shot halted him and he was jailed on a $200 bond awaiting March 5 district court appearance.

Pioneer Bruno Grzadzinski 76 dies after long civic service
Bruno Grzadzinski of Posen dies at 76 at his home on February 8. Survivors include his widow Bessie and children Robert Anthony Bruno SJr and Sister Mary Felicana, with a sister Julia Goetze. He helped found Posen Fire Department in 1906 and served as chief from 1930 to 1934. He was village trustee and clerk for 12 years and worked 20 years at Maremont Corp. Funeral services were held February 11 at St. Stanislaus Church after a burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
