Lutheran scholarship awarded to Lynn Evans student
Lynn Evans daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Evans of Cleveland Avenue Posen received a scholarship from the Aid Association for Lutherans. A Bremen High School graduate and current freshman at Concordia Teachers College River Forest she plans a career teaching in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod school system.

Bond Referendum Details for District 1431/2 February Ballot
The Board of Education explains two propositions for a February 27 1965 referendum. Proposition One seeks 155000 to upgrade six to nine schools to Life Safety Code standards and add classrooms in West Harvey and Robbins areas. Proposition Two seeks repayment of an 532000 Illinois School Building Commission loan for 18 to 22 new classrooms with interest free terms to be repaid by local taxes over time.

Water bills to be mailed in February
Water Supt John Giers says quarterly bills will be mailed in the first week of February. Meters are read before billing when possible, but severe weather has allowed only about 50 percent to be read. The other half will be estimated with any over or under billing adjusted on the next bill. Cooperation is requested.
