Exeter Happenings A Laughing Fire Alarm Tale
Exeter column reports a mock fire scare when a well known lady on the square misread a blaze, sending two college boys to fire alarm 45. Firefighters searched many streets for a non existent blaze as about a thousand onlookers laughed. Chief Gooch later interviewed the lady to clarify the harmless prank.
