Betty Trafton and Delwyn Rowe married at St Catherine's Church in York. The double ring ceremony was led by Rev Dennis O'Leary. Bridesmaids wore light blue gowns, and there were junior bridesmaids and a large reception at the couple's home. The bride, a 1930 graduate and WWII veteran’s spouse, traveled in a wool cape outfit with matching accessories.
Beverly Arn Dix and Agim Meade wed in a base chapel ceremony with matron of honor Mrs Rosaliy Carmel and bridesmaids from hospital and naval personnel. The couple, both active in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital area, wore formal gowns and planned a wedding trip after the ceremony.
Catholic Women's Club to sponsor a fashion show with Mrs George Howner and Mrs Lapeiel Poe among coordinators. The event aims to showcase garments and styles for attendees, featuring local society women and community leaders in support of club activities.
Winfield Staples and his wife celebrated an anniversary with an open house at their home on State Kel. More than 200 relatives and neighbors attended the event, with gifts including a cake, a money purse, and a monty tree. Staples, retired from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, serves as sexton of Pleasant Cemetery and his wife Maples is secretary to Hew Robert 13, Bunn. The couple has several children and two grandchildren. they wed in Brockton Massachusetts on September 18, 1922.
Miss Janice Edwards and Lt Edward E Hanley married at the Prose Aip Force Base chapel with Rev Paull officiating. The bride wore a blue silk gown with beaded detail and a matching veil. she carried stephanotis and sweetheart roses. The groom is stationed at Pease Air Force Base. plans call for a home on 1100A Woulbury Ave.
Rev. Telfer Mook of the Pied Congregational Church in Concord spoke at the Rye Tenement and Rye Bethany Congregational Women’s Union meeting. Attendees included Mrs Slater, Mrs Wellington Moulton, and Mrs Norman Cameron. Program notes and circle chairs discussed future activities and Evangelism, Christian Social Action, and missionary education. next meeting features Porto Rico slides.
Sandra J. Chase and Samuel J. Chase announce their daughter Miss Satkha Jean Clase will marry Dace J. McCarty of Elmira. McCarty is an ALC USAF member and Elmira Catholic School alumnus.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Department held their first fall meeting at the fire station with Mrs. Cecil Tolumi as president. A letter from the American Red Cross was read thanking volunteers for cookie baking for the U S Naval Hospital. Six silver sets were donated for the firemen’s kitchen. A harvest supper committee led by Mrs. Tolad will be assisted by Mrs. Stacia J. Bouchard, Mrs. Doris S. Mauix, and Mrs. Marguerite Fred Nies. Irma Wiggins will handle decorations. A new officers slate will be presented at the November meeting by Mrs. Docla Simpson and Mrs. Higgins. Plans were made for a Christmas food basket and a luncheon was served by Aure Tokind and Mr. Field.
NORTH BERWICK Miss Leona Durgin daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Durgin and Mr Marvin Stone of Laconia NH wed last Saturday at the North Berwick Congregational Church. Rev Peter Sowing performed the ceremony. The bride wore embroidered lace and satin with a fingertip veil and carried white pompoms. Attendants included Mrs Genevieve Webb and Miss Sally Probish. Best man was Wallace Stickney with ushers from Laconia and Medford. The couple will reside at 24 Dover Hill.
Linda Chaney daughter of Mr and Mrs Vernon Chaney of Sunset Park was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower Tuesday in the home of Miss Marjorie Foss. Guests included Esther Thomson Anna Branner Gail Mitchell Kathy Moynahan and many others. Chaney received a present for her sister Susan Chaney.
Exeter church group prepares a rummage sale at Town Hall on October 39 from 9 39 am to 4 pm. The event is organized by the Women’s Gaia of Christ Church and runs in the daytime.

Miss Margaret Babine explained the value of the York Hospital Women’s Guild at a regular meeting in York Town Hall. Henry Strater, president, outlined the group’s founding and officers while detailing ongoing charitable projects and a point system requiring each member to contribute at least 20 hours annually in volunteer work across nursing, reception, laboratory, and patient departments.

The double ring ceremony was led by Rev Tomay with Ralph Manger at the organ. The bride wore a white tulle and taffeta gown with a pearl coronet and carried white carnations and stephanotis. Miss Judith Place served as bridesmaid in a gown with a Colonial bouquet. Best man was Emerson Brooks. ushers were Richard Beckett and Charles Tobey. A luncheon for 30 followed at the bride's home. The couple will reside at White Mr Mrs Brooks in Xillery Paint. Mrs Brooks is a 1956 graduate of Tilot High School and works for Constricty Co. in Kittery. her husband is a Portsmouth Naval Shipyard employee.
The Went en's Mistimany Society of the First Bowls held a vestry gathering with 15 members and guests. Devotions led by Mrs. William Tolley focused on The Source of Joy. Karen Gile performed a vintin solo with her mother Mrs. Fred Gile on piano. A program Well, Spring of Life featured readings and music, including Bible readings by Mrs. Edemanil Roberts and Mrs. dames tan- A duet by Miss Sandra Plunmer and Miss Shire ey Pluie. A reading of President Eisenhower's motion for National Day of Prayer on Oct 2 was included. Silent prayer followed a video prayer offering by Mrs. Oren Dixon. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Dixon and Mrs. Gite. Next meeting planned for Nov 6.
