Boston May 22 John Cassidy twenty from Chelsea is in hospital with a possible brain concussion after a boxing match at Lenox Athletic Club with Edie Phaou of Chicago. Doctors fear Cassidy may not recover. Thron surrendered to police and remains in custody.
National League games featured Pittsburgh blanking New York 6 to 0 in Wilkes Barre and Chicago defeating Philadelphia 6 to 5 in Chicago. St Louis beat Boston 7 to 1 in St Louis while Cincinnati won 9 to 3 at Cincinnati against Brooklyn. Baltimore edged Detroit 3 to 1 in Baltimore and Boston outlasted Chicago 4 to 3 in ten innings at Gastonia. Washington defeated St Louis 9 to 1 in Washington, and Philadelphia beat Cleveland 11 to 9 in Philadelphia. New England League saw Manchester 4 Haverhill 7 in Manchester, Lowell 2 1 Lawrence at Lowell, Concord 8 Fall River 1 in Concord, and Nashua 10 Dover 12 at Nashua.
In Galicia, Spain, a village quarrel between Cleiros and Sada residents left sixty seriously wounded and ten dead. In Amesbury Massachusetts, Kid Carter of Worcester defended his 125 pound wrestling title at the armory defeating Bob Parthington of Mast Boston.
A Delta Powder works explosion at the Delta plant killed Mrs. George Miller and her child who were nearby. Another child died later from injuries. A third person sustained fatal harm in the blast near Redding, California, on May 22.
A tornado struck six miles southeast of Flk City Oklahoma on May 22 wrecking several houses and injuring multiple people including fatalities reported.
A mob in Lansing Texas burned a Black man named Morgan at a railroad post after he allegedly assaulted Mrs. McKay, wife of Section Foreman McKay. He was identified by Mrs. McKay and held by armed bystanders before a noon execution appearance.
In Boston May 22 two other women were betrothed to Andrew J. Emery, one in Boston and another ex Newton resident, as he planned a mock marriage with Nina Danforth who later killed him. The Newton woman discovered Emery’s marriage months after betrothal and withdrew, carrying a gold watch with his portrait. Nina Danforth, jailed in East Cambridge, now bears the watch and photo, learned too late of the ruse. The Boston woman Marine street near the round house testified she knew of him, though he kept the name and home number secret.
The Nally Chronicle claims authority to say peace in South Africa is practically assured, a view echoed by other papers and the public. Government departments declined to release information at a late hour tonight.
The Joly Two hosted a successful dance at Rye town hall on Thursday evening. A large crowd from Uilgelty attended, arriving by a special vestibule-pattern car. Music was provided by Hoyt and Parker's orchestra.
The fourth annual festival of vested Episcopal diocese choirs of New Hampshire was held at Christ Church. About 210 singers from Concord to Keene performed under Prof. Henri G. Blaisdell with a large crowd in attendance and crowds outside. The program included Processional and several anthems and psalms, with the service concluding near the early hours amid a standing-room crowd.

The People's Telephone and Telegraph Co. filed articles of incorporation at the secretary of state to build telegraph and telephone systems in Kittery and Lorcester Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Puerto Rico with $500,000 capital stock unpaid.
