City Hall watchdog Wayne Ecker mourned in obituary
Harold Wayne Ecker, longtime Banfield Road resident and local paving businessman, died after collapsing at a City Hall podium Monday night while urging city leaders to meet expectations. He raised four children with Marilyn Markey Ecker and sponsored a local women's softball team. Known as Wayne to friends.

Divers Search For Capt Is Halted In rough seas
In Maine the Marine Patrol halted its dive search for lobsterman Christopher Tobey presumed drowned near Isles of Shoals. Debra Fredette announced a tribute from Tobey’s family and a fund was set up for his children as debris was found. The cutter Challenger will return home and aircraft will continue flyovers when feasible.

Day of Wellness Lessons At Greenland Central School
Greenland Central School hosted a Journey to Wellness with wind surfing yoga classes and nutrition lessons on Thursday. Beth Sommers said students created health pledges and displayed them on a wall of wellness. A master baker from King Arthur Flow taught bread making with junior chefs Josh Hobbs and Sophie Stone assisting. Paul Gray of Dartmouth College also teaches at the school.

Maine Turnpike Authority officials told York town leaders and Think Again group at a 22 hour York Beach meeting that efforts should focus on keeping the plaza near its present location.
