In Jellico Tennessee a downtown hotel fire killed seven people, most of them elderly. A temporary morgue was set up in a hospital locker room as crews battled the blaze.
An early morning blast at the Klondike Hotel in downtown Niagara Falls, Ont., damaged nearby windows. Police say a bomb caused the explosion but the exact type of explosive is not yet known.
