Fire damages Olde Hampton Village Apartments. 50 residents homeless
A two alarm blaze on the third floor of Building 2 at 340 Lafayette Road left about 50 residents homeless. Firefighters from multiple towns contained the fire by 1:45 PM with no injuries reported and several pets rescued. Ground floors and attic smoke damage noted. investigation ongoing. Resident Phil Lette suggested a candle knocked over by his cat Autumn as a possible cause.
