Precinct Votes to Buy Property in Hampton Beach
HAMPTON BEACH The Beach Precinct voted to take by eminent domain the Cooper property on Ashworth Avenue and appropriated 75000 for the purchase. They approved 64058 for a new fire pumper and backed a 5 year bond issue to pay for the land. Precinct commissioner Ralph Harris said the land would be seized and bonds sold at 4.7 percent interest. The bond issue passed 41 to 12 after a failed motion to table. The pumper vote passed unanimously. Fire Chief Paul Long noted the pumper reflects New Hampshire Fire Underwriters recommendations from a 1966 survey.
