No Objection to Senate Changes on Forest Conservation Bill
Washington March 29 Rep Byrns said after a talk with Pres Roosevelt the executive has no objection to senate amendments to the forest conservation bill. Burns added that the bill will pass before adjournment and that the President aims to enroll the unemployed in two weeks after enactment. The Labor department will enroll workers and the army will transport them. Administration will feed agencies for administration and a Federal official will oversee the program. Connery prepared to oppose amendments proposing pay scales for single and married workers. House voting to avoid increasing costs. The senate amended bill sets no age limits for reforestation, soil erosion or other jobs, leaving details to the administration.

Old Mont Vernon Hotel Destroyed by Fire
