Departed principals to receive severance in Portsmouth
In Portsmouth, two school administrators who resigned last week will receive 76,600 dollars total for the remainder of the year. Former high school Principal Forrest Ransdell got 60,600, covering severance and pay through June 30. Michael McKenney, former assistant principal and part time athletic director, will be paid 21,000 for the year’s remaining salary. Superintendent Bob Lister says these salaries are contractually required. Neither contract required severance, though Ransdell did receive one. Also, Shawn Donovan was given a stipend to serve as acting assistant principal, and Dan Parr will receive a small stipend for athletics duties. No stipend figures were available at deadline.
