A five story apartment house at 335 Shawmut Ave Boston catches fire. Three people die and nine are on the danger list at City Hospital from smoke inhalation. Fire officials say the blaze started in the elevator shaft and there were no fire escapes.
Paris reports Andre Tardieu's second cabinet winning a confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies by 318 to 49. The win strengthens the government ahead of the London Naval Conference and the Young Plan ratification, taxes, and budget, with naval goals reaffirmed but possibly flexible for diplomacy.
About 137 crewsmen who were swept 150 miles by ice floes near Astrakhan were rescued yesterday. They endured five days on the Caspian Sea and appeared little worse for the voyage despite their ordeal.

Mrs Pearl De mater, stenographer to Secretary of State Stimson, died in St George's Hospital from injuries after a fall from a sixth floor window at the Mayfair Hotel in London. She had been examining a bouquet sent by Mrs Stimson and planned to sail on the President Harding on Friday.
Arthur T. Hadley, president emeritus of Yale University, died in Japan, a cablegram received in New Haven, Connecticut, reports his death. The communication was received by his daughter Mrs.
Dr Hadley aged 73 died of pneumonia in Kobe Japan via cablegram. He sailed from New York on the Empress of Australia on December 32 for a round the world cruise. Hadley became president of Yale in 1999 and retired in 1921.
Rev Alban Richey Jr rector of Holderness School plans a series of Lenten sermons in New Hampshire churches and will preach at St John’s Church on April 9 in this city.
In an exhibition of 200 pictures during Art Week the public favorites list includes Portsmouth Harbor painted by John F. Benson. The city celebration features ten works singled as favorites by viewers. Benson is among the favored artists in this selection.
Two Boone Island Light Station keepers faced a dangerous voyage when rough seas capsized their supply boat loaded with furniture. Coast Guard Patrol Boat 278 from Portsmouth and Captain Sands from Isle of Shoals rendered aid, towing the men to safety at the Isle of Shoals station after failed landing at Boone Island.

Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz long the German Navy leader died at 2 30 a m in Ebenhausen near Munich after bronchitis and heart weakness. He would have turned 61 on March 19. He was admitted February 10 from his home at Sargfing to the sanatorium following a brief illness.
Police found an automobile abandoned on Sheafe Street last Saturday. Investigators learned the car was stolen from Boston and owned by Israal Goldimrg of Dorchester Massachusetts.
