Farewell Party for Fred Audgens Ends Portsmouth Sendoff

Mr and Mrs Earl B Kelehe hosted a small farewell dinner for Sgt Fred J Audgen and Mrs Audgen of Sagsmare Ave who are leaving Portsmouth this month. The couple will spend three years near Paris France where Sgt Audgen will be stationed with the US Air Force.

Perfect White Bread and Hearty Dishes by Mrs Morse of Eliot

Mrs Grace Morse from Hanscom, lecturer at F. Mil Grange and Maine Archery Assn., shares a four loaf Perfect White Bread recipe with steps for kneading, rising, shaping and baking at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes. She also provides Veal Chops With Mushroom Sauce and Deer Pie recipes, detailing ingredients, browning, simmering and baking to yield four to six servings.

Woman's Club Of South Berwick Hears End-Season Reports

The St Michael's Woman's Club in South Berwick held a final season meeting at St Michael's all. Mrs August Parent presided as annual reports from chairmen were read. St Michael's Seminary Fund reported $175 raised, the largest by any club in the state, part of a state total over $2,000. An institute session of the National Council of Catholic Women will be June 27 23 at Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline Mass. Officer installations followed with Janis Dineen installing 1961 62 officers. New president Mrs Albert Mouleur and others were welcomed. A talk by Rev John Arsenwald closed the session after a prayer. Refreshments were served.

Ogunquit Dinners Support Church Efforts Draw Crowd

Ogunquit reports a well attended dinner Saturday night directed by a committee of the Methodist Men and the WSCS at the church. An upcoming turkey supper is planned for 6 PM Saturday with reservations through Ted Handrinos or Mrs Esselyn Perkins or Mrs Persis Keene. A second annual loan fundraiser is scheduled for June 28 at noon after last year’s success.

Woman's Society of Christ Han Service marks 21st year

The Woman's Society of Christ Han Service at First Methodist Church celebrated its 21st year with a This is Your Life program. Past presidents led the skit style tribute with 68 members and two out of town guests. A birthday gift fund was raised with 40 cent contributions from each member.

Rye Junior Group Votes to Donate to Library

The Rye Junior Women's Club Community Improvement Committee met at Mrs. Rich ard Haskins home and voted to give $50 to Rye schools principal Robert Luther for books for the new junior high library in the Rye Junior High cafeteria. Proceeds from a planned October rummage sale will fund more books, with an essay contest in November on What My Public Library Means To Me.
