Richard S. Martin, 14, of Goodwin Road Eliot drowned while fishing in Sturgeon Creek near Depot Road. His shoes and gear were found earlier. his body recovered about 2:10 am after a search by Eliot fire department and Maine wardens. He would have started at Eliot Junior High School in fall. He leaves parents and three older brothers.

Gertrude F Riordan 44 is charged with murder in the bathtub drowning of 3 year old Michael Baldwin, neighbor's son.
