Kittery Muster Presents Fire Brigade Parade and Contests
The Kittery muster featured a large turnout from Quetonies and apparatus at the seaside ground. Fire departments from York Beach, Sanford, Biddeford, Springvale, South Berwick and others paraded, with Saco and Eliot also represented. Dry and wet contests yielded Sanford defeating Saco in a tight run off, Springvale winning the water event, while South Berwick placed second and Kittery Point tied for third. Officials included George Stravty, William Woods, Herman Crompton, and Harold Grace. A Grange hall supper followed, described as large and well attended.

Six Injured In Local Crash At Middle Street And Aldrich Road
A two-vehicle crash on Middle Street near Aldrich Road yesterday afternoon sent six people to Portsmouth Hospital for treatment. None suffered serious injuries. The Varney car from Berwick, carrying six, overturned after the collision with the Blanchette car from Newmarket. Injured: Alberta Blanchette, Alverdine Blanchette, Maude, Emma, Kathleen, Elsie, and George Varney. Also, engagement notice for Astrid Varney and Harold Bridle.

Rum Runner Seized at Little Harbor by Coast Guard
A 45-foot motor boat laden with liquor was captured by Coast Guard early this morning at Little Harbor. The crew escaped. The seized craft, registered A-9960 and owned by Edward Crocker of Portland, carried an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 dollars worth of brands before being towed to Wood Island and then to the Coast Guard landing.
