In Washington the House planned to review an $8000 study on the Dickey Lincoln hydroelectric project in northern Alabama. Five congressmen urged opposition to the public works budget proposal, reviving planning work on Dickey dropped in 1967.

Dover Point resident John Taughlin has been named assistant superintendent for Union 32, replacing the current Seabrook Elementary principal. The 44 year old will start about Tuy Tata with a salary of 1890, after interviews with the union. He is married with two children and has roots in Lebanon, Hanover, and Keene, with extensive teaching and administrative background at UNH and other New Hampshire institutions.
