DO-X forced to descend at sea during Brazil flight

The German seaplane DO-X, attempting a Brazil flight, made a forced descent about 60 miles offshore near Porto Praia Cape Verde Islands. The craft had taken off at 12 52 ppa and a rescue run was dispatched as it resumed tests after delaying setbacks. From Natal the route would continue along the Atlantic coast toward New York.

Thousands Flee as Front Rivalry Forces Mass Exodus in China

Associated Press reports fifty thousand peasants abandon homes in southern Kia and move toward Canton area as Nationalist forces withdraw to oppose Communist advances. $1000 Reward for Recovery of Body in Lake Winnipesaukee

Laconia June 4 Robert For Concord aviator engaged by Frank Arrigoni to search Lake Winnipesaukee for his son Chelsa a former Connecticut state senator who drowned last Sunday. The search by boat and grappling irons yielded no trace. Assistant attorney general Winthrop Wadleigh arrived to pursue the case and heard of party arguments at Jack Delaney camp. Divers from New York were hired and the reward was raised from $200 to $1000 for the body’s recovery.

Officer Fined After Smoking Bomb Found at Headquarters

A police officer in Lishog Portugal reports finding a smoking bomb at the doors of the Lesque of May 28 association, a government-friendly group.
