Executive Board of Woman's Club Plans Program

Grade 6 Pupils Travel to Boston

Beulah Jones's Grade 6 class of AMTH Berwick sent forty plus pupils to Salen and Boston. They visited Peabody Museum, The House of Seven Gables, sold seeds to fund the trip, and ate lunch at Willow’s, then toured Charlestown and the Mystic River Bridge area before visiting Selene Park in Boston. Accompanying staff included Mrs Day, Mrs Littlefield, and others. pupils listed include James Brooks, Patricia Davis, Laan Day, Kenneth Ouleh, Shirley, Janet Hanson, and several others.

Trinity Church Announces Summer Speakers Schedule

Trinity Church opens for the period with a revised summer schedule. The Rev. George L. Cadigan of St. Paul’s Rochester will speak July 7, 14 and 21. The Rev. Samuel S. Johnston of St. Andrew’s Wellesley will speak July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11. The Rev. Cowell M. Baisley of the General Theological Seminary New York City will speak Aug. 13, Aug. 20 and Sept. 5.

Leaping Lena Walpole Kangaroo Sighted in New Hampshire

A strange animal reported by witnesses resembled a kangaroo was seen near Waravah Tail Grass on Thursday. State Trooper Louis G. Row grau, about 73 yards away, could not identify the creature.

Miss Marianne Relene Grandjean of this place announces engagement to 1st Lt. Barry Cauley Marshall USAF son of Mrs Ruth Price Silva. Marshall, a Portsmouth High School graduate and University of New Hampshire attendee, has served in the Air Force for more than three years. The couple plan to marry next spring.

Kitchen Shower Held for Firemen at New Station

Third Polio Shots Given to 155 Children at Local School

Dr Charles W Minghorn and Dr Bernard Wiseman led a third Salk vaccine session at Cook Building Truly Academy for 155 school children. Maeside Awarded The Silver Beaver

In Portland Robert D. Maeside of Beech Hill was named the Silver Beaver, the highest honor of scouting for distinguished service to boyhood. Guest Minister Munger to Speak at Middle Street Baptist

Local Baptists Attend National Convention in Philadelphia

Local clergy Rev Gordon and A Gilbert of Middle Street Baptist Church join Mrs Tea Wile Mr Ralph Lessard and Miss Kathleen Staith at the 30th annual American Baptist Convention in Philadelphia through June 4. The conclave expects about 11 000 visitors and delegates from 34 states Hawaii and Alaska and missionaries and nationals from around the world.
