Driver dies after attempted stop on Mercedes crash in Kittery
New Hampshire liquor enforcement says there was no chase as Sgt. Steven Lee tried to stop a stolen 2007 Mercedes entering Maine. The car, driven by Dover resident Justin Harding, 22, crashed after jumping a curb and hitting a tree, killing Harding. He was to face NH charges for alleged DWI on Spaulding Turnpike. An officer identified Harding at the scene with help from Trooper Nicholas Cyr.

Police sergeant dies in Route 1 crash at Hampton Falls
Seabrook police Sgt. Dana Bedell, 43, of Kensington, was killed in a Sunday morning single vehicle crash on Route 1 near Hampton Falls. His Ford pickup veered left, crossed the northbound lane, struck a utility pole, and he later died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital after initial treatment at Exeter Hospital. Police Chief David Currier and officers were present.
