Charles F Coyle 87 of Vennards Court died Monday July 11 2005 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born August 26 1917 in Charlestown Massachusetts he was one of ten children and lived in the area 58 years. He served in the U S Army in World War II and retired in 1973 from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as head of data processing after 32 years. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Survived by wife Virginia two children Frederick and Eileen two daughters Barbara, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Jeremy Stewart.

James S Erwin longtime York leader dies at 84
James S Erwin of York Harbor died July 14 2005 at York Hospital after a short illness. Born in New York City Nov 27 1920 he grew up in Englewood New Jersey and summered on family farm in South Berwick. A Dartmouth 1942 graduate and WWII veteran he practiced law in York for 55 years and served as Maine attorney general from 1967 to 1972. He chaired many civic and charitable groups and led York Hospital as a key founder and supporter. He is survived by his wife Anne four children seven grandchildren and a sister. A memorial service is planned July 20 2005 at First Parish Church in York. Visiting hours July 19 2005 at Lucas Eaton Funeral Home. Memorial donations to York Hospital.

Hodgdon Rites Held In New Hampshire Burial In Sagamore Cemetery
Funeral services for Paul A Hodgdon Sr were conducted Wednesday at J Verne Wood Funeral Home Buckminster Chapel in Portsmouth New Hampshire with Rev Vivan Martindale officiating. Burial followed at Sagamore Cemetery in Portsmouth with committal by Rev Martindale. Bearers included Jeffrey Hodgdon Jason Dever Matt Dever Chris Hodgdon Scott Hodgdon and Todd Hodgdon. Taps was sounded by Ted Blood and the flag was folded and presented to Barbara Perham Hodgdon by Jeanne Powers and Travis and Brittany Hodgdon. American Legion services were held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening by Frank E Booma Post No 6 of Portsmouth.
