Portsmouth welcomes new community radio WSCA FM at 106.1
Portsmou th launches a noncommercial station WSCA FM to serve the Seacoast area with 100 watts. Founders Bruce Pingree and Tim Stone seek studio space of 1,000 to 2,000 square feet and seed money of 50 000 to 75 000 dollars while inviting volunteers. The project, backed by PCR and the Seacoast Arts Alliance, aims to provide independent local coverage for Rye New Castle Greenland Newington Eliot and Kittery. A public meeting is set for Friday July 18 at the Press Room to introduce the venture.
