Washington AP reports M Scammon says young voters offer free labor for campaigns and ballots. He cites McCarthy success in primaries and notes most 1964 voters were over 35, with under 25s and students making up small shares. The data imply campaigns focus on older, breadwinning voters.
Boston Police Commissioner Edmund L McNamara condemned a University of Michigan study group report as completely irresponsible and inaccurate amid charges of misconduct by officers in Boston Chicago and Washington. He said he asked for a copy and was refused by Dr Albert J Reiss and urged turning over any evidence to the attorney general.
U S and South Vietnamese troops combed jungles and tunnels near Saigon discovering rockets and munitions hidden for new attacks. Finds included 35 107mm rockets, 20 more in a tunnel, 82mm mortars with rounds, rocket grenades, launchers, and Soviet made rockets. Additional shells, rifles and ammunition were seized as airstrikes and sweeps intensified.

Five-vehicle collision in Millinocket after a pulp truck's brakes fail on a hill. Earl L. Cummings, Gary Elliot, Jef frey Cole, Charlotte McGowan, and Robert Mattall were involved. Elliot and Cole escaped with minor injuries. Mrs Catherine McGowan and Mattall were hospitalized for observation or chest injuries. Pulp spilled onto the motel lawn. no damage estimates given.

Five persons in a jeep east of Saigon were ambushed by Viet Cong on Friday night. Four were believed American professional entertainers. Two entertainers were killed and three others including a female entertainer and a US Army sergeant were wounded. Wounded were taken to Lord Bend Evacuation Hospital at Long Binh.
