Jurors in Aller Henry case report they could not agree after fourteen hours of deliberation. Foreman faced questions from the twelve jurors before adjourning in the late afternoon. A verdict appears unlikely without further proceedings, with continued debate looming over the trial's next steps.
A twenty four hour term ended without a verdict for William J E Moore of Portsmouth on embezzlement charges in Exeter. Foreman stated the jury could not reach a decision, Judge Peaslee dismissed the panel, and Moore’s sureties were set at 2000 dollars. The case likely resumes in April.
In Washington the Senate debated for an hour on whether a censor clip of press despatches exists at Manila. Earlier, Illinois Senator Zvn Flobbins announced the permanent census bill and said he would call it up tomorrow. Air Custom of the foreign relations committee gave a long speech on reciprocity negotiations.
Lane B. Schofield of Schofield Whicher & Co stock brokers killed himself in a Newtonville bath tub shortly before seven this morning. Family woke for breakfast as he acted with deliberation, filling the tub and shooting himself in the breast. he died in the water.
