Railroad Collision Injures Madame Nordica in Georgia
In Rome Georgia early today a passenger train collided with a freight train near Reeves station on the Southern Railroad. Singer Madame Nordica and her accompanist E Romane Simmons were hurt. An engineer was killed and three other railroad workers were injured. Madame Nordica’s private car was attached to a mixed train that had orders to meet a freight at Reeves at 3 30 this morning. A second freight on a siding led the passenger engineer to think he should proceed to Chattanooga, causing the crash. Nordica suffered a bruised shoulder and neck strain but may perform tomorrow night.
