The body of a 54 year old man was found in a Salmon Falls hobo jungle and later identified as Daniel Kelly of Charlestown Massachusetts. Officials said exposure and other natural causes caused the death and noted he was a World War I veteran. The discovery was made by Alphonse Theberge Jr. and Kelly’s papers and tattoos identified him. Dover and Rochester authorities conducted the investigation with county sheriff Wilfred J. Pure involved in locating relatives.
The Portsmouth Herald will not publish Monday in observance of the New Year holiday. The newspaper will resume normal publication on Tuesday with the same local news and notices.
