Central Baptist Church to Hold Sunday Services

Central Baptist Szptismar services will be held Sunday at the Central Baptist Church during the morning service. A watchnight service will begin at p.m. replacing the 7 p.m. service. The angel Christmas program directed by Mrs Phyllis MMoaka was presented by the Sunday School last week with various departments and students participating. John Needham, Robert Needham, Edward Olson, Judy, Gay, Linds Menko and Nancy Rowan joined in performances. A meeting with area librarians to discuss future library service in the state is set for Jan 18 at Exeter Public Library with a library film and remarks by a member of the Governor's Committee for Better Libraries. The Manchester City Library hosts the first meeting on Jan 4 with a panel of local library experts. A surgical patient, Mrs Oscar Gaye, is at Portsmouth Hospital.

Peril and heroism in Nantucket shoal rescue at sea

A Coast Guard inquiry recalls the Dec 19 loss of the Barbara and Gail scallop dragger near Great Round shoal east of Nantucket. Garland to Seek Re election in Maine First District

AP reports U S Rep Peter A Garland R Maine will run again in 1962 representing the expanded First District. Rep Stanley W H Tupper R whose Second District is being split to form First and Third districts announced he will not oppose Garland in the primary. Garland, 38, is a freshman lawmaker who has spoken in 47 Maine communities since returning to the state.

Christmas Tableau At Salvation Army Tonight At 7 30

Yale tableau was moved from last Sunday to this coming Sunday at 7 30 p.m. at the Salvation Army building 202 State Street. The public is invited. The Sunday School children recited Christmas pieces for parents and friends and candy and ice cream were served. Tomorrow night the Home League offers a covered dish supper and Christmas tree.

Court denies use of 36-foot yacht by ex-dictator Perez Jimenez

In Miami Beach, former Venezuelan dictator Perez Jimenez, living at a 400000 estate, sought permission to daylight-entry his 36-foot luxury yacht in local waters but was refused by Federal Judge William A. McRae. The judge kept exile constraints and extradition efforts in place despite the ex-leader’s pledge to submit to immigration checks.

Hampton Child Hurt in Mishap

A 12 year old girl in Hampton suffered facial bruises after being struck by an oil truck near her home on Leavitt Road. Jane MacDormand, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry MacDormand, ran from between snow piles and was hit by the Dining 100 Co truck driven by Albert J Bernier of 190 Lafayette Road. She received treatment from Dr Roger Blake.
