Train Collides With Car at Crossing Kills Two Residents
At a New Village crossing a Boston-Portland train struck a car carrying Emery House 24 and Sohanie Russell House 21 as it turned from Cedar Street onto Elm Street. The couple died instantly, and Mrs Russell was ejected 52 feet from the vehicle. The car was dragged 319 feet along the tracks, witnesses said, while Frank Russell followed close behind. Inspector Bazentino noted sun glare may have blinded Houle at the crossing. The crash halted traffic for an hour as investigators worked.
