President Roosevelt announced a four month extension of the blanket re-employment code beyond January 1. He said about 70 percent of workers are now covered under the current fair competition agreements and that the extension aims to prevent a recovery setback in trades not yet under NRA codes. He expressed confidence that permanent codes for the remaining 30 percent will be ready by the end of the extension period.

New York December 20 Associated Press reports financier Jesse L Livermore known as the boy plunger to investors is missing after leaving his Park Avenue apartment yesterday afternoon following his return from business. His wife notified the police and said she has not heard from him since.
Livermore, 56, renowned figure in prior news, has not telephoned since leaving home yesterday. Police checked hospitals for possible accident as wife reported no threats or business worries. He was recently named in a $250,000 breach of promise suit by Naida Krassnova, which he denied.
Concord December 20 Allied agricultural groups with the State Farm Bureau Federation will support a move to establish a milk control board if a special legislative session is called. George M Putnam Farm Bureau president announced today. He said the petition of the Claremont Dairy Association presented to Gov. John G. Winant asks that a session take up milk problems. Putnam said larger centers like Concord Manchester and Nashua are under the Boston milk marketing code and that the state board would control smaller cities and towns by state law and could license milk distributors to regulate prices.
The women of Saint John's Auxiliary met in the Parish House on Tuesday afternoon to sew for needy children in Brenden South Carolina. Little girls dresses are in progress and the group will pack a missionary box for mountain families.

Other notable movers included American Can and General Motors with mixed results and several names slipping one to three points.
Paris December 20 American salesman Robert Switz 28 his wife Marjorie Tiley 23 and Canadian merchant Benjamin Berkowitz 58 led a group of ten detained on charges of complicity in an espionage service reaching into the French Ministry of Marine. Police said three leaders escaped while 18 arrests had been announced earlier. in Switz room 19000 francs and military documents were found along with wireless gear and photo plates.
Tyngsboro Mass December fire drives 51 boys and Brothers from the Marist Brothers Juniorate. The blaze, on the third and fourth floors, caused about 100000 in damage. No injuries among pupils. several firemen hurt slightly. Water supply and wind challenged crews from multiple towns before blaze extinguished. The cause is undetermined.
