Five Killed In Plane Crash Epping Woman Held As Witness
New York dispatch says Orrene Colter of Epping New Hampshire is jailed as a material witness in the murder case against Henry Koijmann charged with first degree murder in the shooting of Herbert Highfill at Oyster Bay Long Island. Colter allegedly traveled across the country with Koijmann three years ago, changed her name to Highfill, and later met Highfill in Philadelphia.

Washington dispatch reports five perished in a Boling Field crash including Representative William Raynor of Massachusetts and his secretary Stanley Lowe. Also killed were Capt. Harry Dinger, Arthur McGil and W Vishmar Kizma. Raynor, in his first flight as a House Military committee member, was returning home to Springfield for the holidays. The House later adjourned in respect, Tilson announcing the tribute.

Fifty Injured In New York Subway Crash
Fifty persons, many women, were injured when a six car Brooklyn Manhattan Transit subway train struck a grounded third rail in the East River tunnel connecting Manhattan with Queens. Emergency squads and ambulances rushed to Queens Plaza. initial reports listed 25 taken to St Johns Hospital but later confirmed 50 were treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation. Passengers rushed to escape, some cutting themselves on glass as insulation fumes filled cars. Power was cut and riders walked to Queens Plaza or exited via emergency points, with some aboard a train on the opposite track.

Liquor Seizure Destroys 8 Cases in Sewer
Eight cases of foreign liquors stored in the Custom House basement since seizure at Rye Beach were destroyed in the sewer today by order of Judge Morris and Deputy U S Marshal Walter Bean. A prior large storage had been held months before disposal. Joseph Belmont, 3, of Demmett street, treated at Portsmouth hospital for bruises to his left arm from playing with a wringing machine.

Portsmouth Chanter of the Order of De Molay conferred the initiatory and DeMolay degrees at its Thursday evening session in Masonic Hall. Six candidates received the DeMolay degree. State Deputy Bela Kingman of New Market was absent due to a family illness, and the Cross of Honor award to James E. Whalley was postponed to the next meeting.
