Errors Charged in Mannion Brief in NH Murder Trial
Concord, Dec 20 Five of 23 exceptions taken by counsel for Thomas M Mannion Jr of Portsmouth at his trial for the murder of his wife in November 1925 are waived in a brief filed with the Supreme court. Mannion was found guilty of murder in the second degree and sentenced to life imprisonment. The brief recites the death of Mrs Helen Agnes Mannion on Little Harbor road near Portsmouth on April 24, 1925 and argues witnesses could have testified the wounds were self inflicted. Exceptions waived cover indictments form, trial plan, impeachment of witnesses, court refusals, and the presiding judge’s circumstantial evidence charge. Mannion’s counsel claim errors in admitting photographs and in questions by the state, bench comments during cross examination, expert testimony, and the judge’s charge. They argue several errors were harmful and prejudicial to the defendant.

Body of missing man found near Vermont rail line
The body of Herbert Blake a 53 year old resident of West Georgia was found yesterday in a ravine beside the Central Vermont Railway tracks in West Georgia. Police believe he was struck by a train and hurled down a 45 foot embankment after being missing since Friday. Neighbors and friends had searched for him since early Friday.
