Arrest of Rum Runner Pair on Lafayette Road
Prohibition officers Leighton Kent, WFlingwood, and officer Wawitt stopped a Boston bound car on Lafayette Road at 12 30 this morning. Inside were William Lemieux of Biddeford and Myrtle Marco of Boston with 50 gallons of alcohol in cans tied in boxes. Lemieux, 17, and Marco, 30, were arraigned in Municipal court and could not pay fines. They face further arraignment before the United States Commissioner at Concord.

Col C H Prescott founder of the Biddeford Daily Journal and former governor candidate died in Saco at age 62 from complications. Born Barnstead New Hampshire August 3 1857 he studied at South Berwick Academy and Boston University Law School. He moved to Biddeford and joined his brother to publish the Union and Journal which evolved into the Biddeford Daily Journal remaining publisher until a year ago when he retired. A stock company president maintained the business as health declined.

Masked gunman robs auto on Lafayette Road
