President signs 160 million tax reduction bill

Trans-Atlantic fliers injured in forced Brazil landing

Burglars entered the home of Mr and Mrs Foye on Mit street last evening between 7 and 8 o clock while the house was empty and escaped with considerable silverware. The theft was discovered when the Foeyes returned about 9 o'clock.

Five families escaped a two alarm blaze that threatened the Commercial House, a six tenement wooden building on Bacon Street in Biddeford Maine. Prompt firefighting limited damage to about 92500 and residents were moved to the street.

Women die in Baltimore fire at paper plant

In Baltimore, six workers perished as a waste paper sorting plant at the Thomas H. O'Connor Company burned. Four more were injured, two leaping from upper floors. Officials reported several other employees unaccounted for and feared dead, with Mrs. Elizabeth Wright and Mrs. Annie Campbell among the identified, Tina Hic dying later in hospital.
