Brunette, captured after a gun battle with Justice agents and state troopers, allegedly confessed to the kidnapping of New Jersey. No trace found in search for missing air liner

In fog and rain, ground crews and planes scoured the Wasatch range between Salt Lake City and Provo for the Western Air liner carrying five men and two women. A search centered near Alpine after a distress call from S J Sampson near Milford. The missing crew included pilot and stewardess Gladys Witt.

Four Facing Arson Charges in Andover Fire Case

Concord authorities said four defendants likely will be arraigned in municipal court for the Oct. 4 1932 East Andover fire. The suspects are Julia Kilburn owner of the burned house Adolph Blood Burt Smalley and Mrs Smalley. Blood and Smalley allegedly received 100 to start the blaze and Kilburn collected 1800 in insurance. Investigators were aided by David Rubino Me agent for Portland National Fire Underwriters.

Planes Bomb Madrid in Major Insurgent Raid

Fire destroys Eliot House in brief blaze

A large house owned by William Parnham on Hanscom road in Eliot was gutted by fire just before noon. Parnham escaped to telephone for help, but water was scarce as the well ran low. Assistance from Kittery and Portsmouth fire departments with chemical tanks arrived too late to save the residence. the barn nearby sustained no damage.
