Bank raiders blow open the vault at the State Bank in a dramatic daytime raid, severing telephone and power links, blowing safe and vault to pieces with dynamite. They escape with about $4500 in cash leaving a wrecked bank unable to reopen. A Baltimore Railroad operator and staff were present as the heist unfolded. Local investigations focus on identifying the suspects and tracing the torn cables and damaged lines.
