The nominating committee will seek a successor, including Mrs. Brice Cove and Miss Margret Buckley. Fathers consent to found the skating rink and PTA sponsors the annual Christmas party for special children. A gift was given to kindergarten teacher Virginia Faith, a Christmas auction led by Marold Stanley. Mrs. John Gallant led a large wreath, refreshments were by Grade 4 mothers with George Fritz Jr. as chairman. Attendance banner won by Miss Joan Plumpton’s Grade 2. PTA magazine drive ended with a sales report due next meeting.

Portsmouth man charged with embezzlement and gun possession

A Portsmouth man Charles R. Hanson 23 of Circuit Rd was arrested in New York after a private complaint by Speedway Petroleum charged him with embezzling about 1950 last month from the Islington Street station. He is held in 2500 bail awaiting a court hearing on gun possession charges with a dancer claiming he gave a gun used to shoot a boyfriend in New York City.

About 50 people attended the annual children’s Christmas music program at North Hampton Elementary School. Students from Grades 1 through 4 took part in songs, poems, a minstrel playlet, and a Christmas Angel play. Robert Guchanan led as master of ceremonies. Willar F. Chamberlain announced a school encyclopedia purchase. donations totaled about 75 dollars.
