Boxer Berglund Dies After Last Round Knockout
Minneapolis December 11 Harry Berglund a 21 year old Hecht heavyweight from Minneapolis died in a local hospital after being knocked out 15 seconds before the bout's end. He did not regain consciousness from ring exit until death. St Paul opponent Carl Augustine faced no charges pending coroner action. Berglund had a storied amateur career and this was his first professional fight. The death followed another boxing fatality, Charles Tegulihan of Hartford died after a bout with Himer Freedman.
