Washington December 14 forecast for New Hampshire calls for fair conditions with continued cold weather. Partly cloudy skies expected and not so cold daytime temperatures.
Richard J. Glendon known as Young Dick, coach of the Columbia crew, was found on a Chatham beach after missing since yesterday on a hunting trip. Police and about 100 volunteers searched through snow during a northeast storm. It was unclear whether drowning or exposure caused death.
Reports from Asuncion say Paraguay seized Fort Saavedra and bombarded Fort Munoz as Bolivian garrisons lit their barracks. Murgia's fall announced amid talks at Montevideo urging an armistice, with Paraguay claiming major bases in a long war zone.
New York December 14 Stocks edged higher with Allied Chemical up five points. American Woolen preferred rose 4.4 percent and U S Smelting and Auburn gained three points. Winners included U S Steel American Can American Woolen Chrysler Dupont and more while American Telephone slipped two points before recovering.

Effective December 15 the Market Square to Navy Yard bus fare rises to 10 cents cash or 72 60 ticket. Transfers will be sold at 5 cents each upon payment of 10 cent cash or 7 1 4 cent ticket fare good for one 10 cent ride in either direction from Market Square.
A northeast gale battered the English coast with five more deaths raising toll to 17. Snow and freezing temperatures hit England and France, with 11 deaths in France. Channel crossing halted, trans Atlantic shipping delayed, and a missing airman. In the U S heavy snow and a blizzard in New York hampered search for escapee Wesley A. Alger. California floods and a damaged Golden Gate bridge project trestle caused $100,000 in losses.
Arthur W. McDaniel of Nottingham was elected master of the New Hampshire Grange at Manchester on December 14, in a close contest that left few votes for other leaders. Mrs McDaniel was named to the post of state Ceres as Hammond of Laconia and Wesley Adams of Dondonderry contended for the retiring state master role.
Mond was named state secretary succeeding the longtime George R. Drake of Manchester who after 30 years as secretary announced Tuesday he would not seek reelection.
A well attended meeting at the Chamber of Commerce rooms last evening debated a city recreational program with about five organizations represented.
Bangor Maine District Governor Warren J. Moulton spoke to the Rotary Club at the Rockingham Hotel about international aspects of Rotary International uniting nations. He cited Cuban civil war avert, Rotary clubs in Paraguay and Bolivia as key communicators, and urged service for personal happiness. Dr. Frederick S. Gray joined the club, with Rufus E. Ross officiating. Mayor Elect Robert Marvin attended as guest of Rev. Wm. Safford Jones.
Crescen City Florida December 14 at least seven elementary school children died and between 30 and 40 more injured when a freight train crashed into a school bus six miles south of Crescen City this morning. Some victims were expected to die.
