Portsmouth residents urged to bring children for polio vaccination with a second and third dose in December at 10 to 12 hour window. Adults may be vaccinated. nominal fee applies. Event runs tomorrow at the Grange Hall, Maine location.
The Portsmouth Housing Authority forwards revised Willowbrook drawings for a 124 unit low rent project to the New York office for approval. Executive Director Edward J. Abbatt urges immediate action with bids possible January 20 if approvals return before Christmas.
Exeter townsfolk gather for an informal discussion about the caming special town meeting and the town water supply. A Dec. 20 vote will decide acceptance of a 2504 interest free loan offer from Alvin T Fuller Sr after voters rejected a 250,000 water bond issue on Nov 19.
The near five day period from Saturday through Wednesday brings average temperatures near seasonal normals in northern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Notably mild Saturday and Sunday give way to a dip, with a likely warming again by late Monday or Tuesday. Normal highs and lows listed include Boston 39/25 and Providence 31, with other readings in Worcester Nantucket Concord Burlington Portland Eastport Greenville Caribou. Precipitation expected to total 1 to several tenths of an inch, with light snow in northern New England toward night, and light snow or rain in Massachusetts and Rhode Island around Monday.
Greenland Church hosts a New Franklin PTA Christmas sale event sponsored by Harold Campbell and chaired by Mrs Edward Jeetar with aid from Mrs F Mgregional Church. The program features carols, recording by Jolnt L Carl, various tables, a snack bar, and distribution of favors. A New Year’s recording and fellowship at Greenland School follow, open to local youth with refreshments.
