The President and high party aboard the steamship George Washington are reported near the Azores en route to France. Ship preparations and weather indicate a coordinated arrival with generals and officials awaiting at Brest, Paris discussions planned for Saturday evening.
A state meeting in Concord authorized committees to cooperate with federal agencies on public safety and reconstruction. Officials plan to place soldiers and civilian workers across twelve cities, with Governors Keyes and Martlets to be consulted on next steps.
