Board Hikes Outside Pupils Tuition At Portsmouth Schools
The Portsmouth Board of Education raised tuition for pupils from nearby communities attending city schools. Senior and Junior High rates rose to 8250, elementary to 190, and kindergarten to 130, citing cost per pupil for 1951-52 and 1952 fiscal year. Goding Carroll Sterling John Hopley who will award the $50 best float prize. Eight floats five bands and about 70 schoolchildren participate. Ira A. Brown directs the procession starting 6 45 p.m. at the High School then tours Congress Daniel and State Streets before Market Square. Mayor Theodore R. Butler will greet Santa at the square.

Gunman Captured After Fiery New York Shootout
Clarence O. Sims of Cleveland, a homicide suspect called head of a violent seven-man gang, was captured after a gun battle in Times Square that wounded three police officers and three bystanders. Sims, also known as Pistol and Johnny Wallace, matched a plan for liquor store holdups with gang members. Rollinsford Mary L. Michaud aged 44 was fatally injured when struck by a car on Silver Street. Driver Paul E.
