School Union budget vote reports increased costs and staff

Highway Work To Start Monday In South Berwick
The State Highway Department will begin reconstructing over two miles of Route 4 Portland Street in South Berwick starting Monday. The $819,060 project, funded by federal and state sources, will widen the half mile at Portland and Main Streets to 44 feet and rebuild sidewalks. About 69 elms will be removed and portions of four houses a barn and four garages will be displaced. Completion is expected in fall 1968. Planche Named Acting Chief in South Berwick
South Berwick selects Planche to serve as acting chief to fill the remainder of George Artis’s term after his resignation.
