Local Man Drowns While Deer Hunting
Peter R. Fournier 22 of 272 Bartlett St Portsmouth drowned near Laskey Hill while crossing the Jones River. His body was recovered after searchers broke ice, five feet from shore, by State Police and Fish and Game officers. Delbert Spinney 22 of 1150 Woodbury Ave Portsmouth was his hunting companion. Fournier was missing around 2:30 pm and found dead in seven feet of water. The medical examiner ruled accidental drowning. Fournier, a shoe salesman, served in the Air Force and recently married.
