King George told Parliament it is urgently necessary that deficiencies in the defense forces of the British empire be made good. Motions followed on foreign policy under the League of Nations and measures to aid Italy, with the treasury announcing two loans totaling 200 million pounds. Concord December report states Jerry Nelson of Claremont has been arrested in Los Angeles on a federal kidnapping charge for the June robbery and kidnapping of Arthur B Madison. Nelson, held for trial in Boston, is linked to multiple state cases including burglary, kidnapping, and assault across Massachusetts New Hampshire Connecticut and other authorities pursue parole breaches and related charges with John R Davis of Shreveport awaiting trial.
A gang of at least five prisoners broke from the Massachusetts State Prison in Charlestown. One convict was killed and a truck driver slugged with an iron pipe. Guards and police chased fugitives. two captured near the yard and others detained after gunfire. Names include Philip Naples and William McManus. injuries reported, no full details yet.
In a Portsmouth-bound plan, a Davis and an unnamed companion allegedly robbed a man and seized his car. Davis was arrested June 12 in this city, then taken to Concord. The pair reportedly forced the victim at gunpoint to drive to Concord and back, with no trace found of the accomplice. Separately, Cohen Robertson of Lamar County, Alabama, harvested a 20 1/2 pound cabbage.
The Board of Registrars will meet Friday December 6 and Tuesday December 10 from 9 to 12, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. to change party affiliations ahead of the March primary. Clerk T. J. Buckley announces.
