Stevenson Rips Into Red China at U.N. Debate
Adlai E. Stevenson blasted Communist China as a reckless force threatening mankind and warned seating Peiping in the United Nations could erode world confidence. He spoke after Soviet deputy foreign minister Valerian Zorin urged immediate recognition and expulsion of Nationalists, as the Chinese Nationalist diplomat addressed the assembly. The Soviet bloc walked out in protest as the debate opened.
